Psyche
A freelancer for Saxony Canterbury's Steel Angels Investigations, Psyche
is a woman with a fractured memory. It appears that she she can "forget"
herself, losing her own identity to the point that she becomes helpless and
vulnerable. Yet when she remembers herself -- upon hearing her own name
-- she becomes cool, focused, and exceptionally dangerous. When "awake,"
she seems obsessively self-sufficient, reacting with pure rage to the notion
that anybody might save her from danger.
This mysterious and unstable woman was sent by Saxony Canterbury with
an assignment to find Sharon and Gail and intercept them before they reach
New Orleans. She was instructed to get a feel for the sisters, to assist in their
"awakening"... and to be as rough as she liked in the process. She caught
up with the two in Oklahoma City and treated them to a very strange evening,
one that featured an inconclusive fight with Gail and an encounter with a
vampire in a local church. Afterwards, she was dispatched to California to
learn more about the Curmen family background.
Psyche is mischievous, flirtatious, and unpredictable. She is quick to resort
to violence in a situation, and delights in the thrill of combat. She also shows
a strong sympathy for the plight of magical beings in the modern world.
