July 15, 2005: Perhaps you've noticed by now that I am taking a few digs at Oklahoma in this part of the story. I'm not writing this from an outsider's perspective -- I did, in fact, live for somewhat over three years in Oklahoma City, so I feel I'm qualified to write a bit of satire about it. Not trying to offend anyone here -- it's all meant in fun. Also, one might observe that this is not the first time that a police officer has been portrayed in Thunderstruck as being somewhat less than on-the-ball. This Fellow is clearly a cut above of our Oklahoma City cops, but still not the most stellar example of law enforcement acumen. I assure you, neither of these instances are meant to reflect my view on police officers in general. I have a brother who's a cop and a cousin-in-law who has been a cop, and have the highest respect for them both. Silly cops just work better for the story, that's all.
